Resilienz und Reaktionsfähigkeit in der Architektur klingen wie ein Oxymoron. Schwerfällig, träge in ihrer Entwicklung wirkt diese jahrtausendealte Disziplin. Es ist nicht vorhersehbar, wohin sich unsere Umwelt, unsere Gesellschaft und unser gebautes Umfeld entwickeln werden. In jedem Fall werden uns dabei jene Strukturen begleiten, die auf sich ständig wandelnde Ansprüche, auf sich immer weiter entwickelnde Zielvorstellungen und auf alles, was wir aus heutiger Sicht nicht wissen (können), reagieren. Wir stellen die These auf, dass in tänzerischen Gedankensprüngen entwickelte Architekturfragemente geeignet sein werden, eine Vielfalt an Lösungsansätzen für noch nicht gestellte Fragen anzubieten – der resiliente Antispezialist.
Resilience and the ability to react seem to be an oxymoron within the context of architecture. The discipline is usually associated with traditional and slow processes. It is impossible to foresee where our natural and built environment as well as our society are heading. Structures that respond to continuously changing demands and goals and unknown futures will prove to be those that will continue with us as we learn to adapt. We claim that fragments of architecture, that were developed in “light-footed mental leaps“, will guide us towards a diversity of answers to questions not yet asked – the resilient anti-specialist.
