Marjan Colletti is an architect, designer, researcher, writer, and educator. He holds a degree from the University of Innsbruck, a MArch and a PhD in architectural design from The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, and a dott. degree from IUAV Venice. He is Full Professor of Building Design & Construction and founder of [link] REX|LAB – the robotic experimentation laboratory at the Department of Experimental Architecture, University of Innsbruck since 2012, previous Head of Department from 2013–21. Other appointments include/d professorship at The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL; guest professorships at UCLA Los Angeles CA, UT Arlington TX, and TU Vienna; lectureships at the University of Westminster and the Royal College of Art in London; and teaching positions at KIAD Canterbury and private Chinese institutions.

His design-research, and his research-led pedagogy operate across several intersecting areas: digital design and theory; robotic fabrication and experimentation; postdigital neobaroque theory and aesthetics; worldcrafting and 4D design processes; cultures and technologies.

He is author of Digital Poetics (Ashgate, 2013); co-author and co-editor of the Postdigital Neobaroque Architecture (PDNB) trilogy (D Editore, 2024); co-editor of Meeting Nature Halfway (Innsbruck UP, 2018), U20 (ListLab, 2016), PoroCITIES (ListLab, 2014), marcosandmarjan Interfaces|Intrafaces (Springer, 2005); and guest-editor of the 80th anniversary issue of AD Architectural Design Exuberance (Wiley, 2010); and author/co-author of over 100 chapters/papers/project entries.

His work, including over 50 built installations, has been exhibited in over 100 international venues; he has given over 135 lectures/keynotes/panel appearances internationally, and has served an expert assessor/reviewer for institutions in Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, UK, USA.
